IMPHAL, Jan 3 : The State registered 20 new Covid cases including one Central security personnel in the last 24 hours while five persons were discharged today after recovery.
With this figure, the active cases now stand at 229 which include seven CAPF personnel.
In terms of vaccination, Kangpokpi and Ukhrul are faring poorly as the two districts have fully vaccinated only 12.95 percent and 17.98 percent of its population respectively as on Sunday (January 2). At Kamjong only 22.39 percent of the eligible population have been vaccinated.
The fresh cases were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (4) and other testing centres (13) and the 19 civilains are from Imphal East (9), Imphal West (7), Senapati (1), Churachandpur (1) and Kangpokpi (1). One CAPF also tested positive in the last 24 hours.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,25,843, as per COVID-19 Common Control Room.
As 1,790 samples were tested in the period of 24 hours, the single day Covid test positivity rate updated on Monday is 1.1 percent.
In the same period, one unvaccinated person from Imphal West died of COVID-19, pushing the death toll to 2004.
Among the districts, it is Imphal West which has reported maximum number of Covid deaths (673) while Pherzawl is at the bottom of the chart with no deaths reported so far.
The five persons who recuperated from COVID-19 were discharged from Home Isolation (1) and CCCs (4) and with this the recovered cases have increased to 1,23,610.
Yesterday, the State distributed 100 D-type cylinders to different health care facilities in Manipur but didn't deliver any B-type oxygen cylinders.
On the same day (January 2), 524 Covid vaccine doses were administered.
Till yesterday, 56.61 percent of the State's population had received 1st dose of Covid vaccine while another 42.35 percent had been fully vaccinated against the contagion.
