Many condole Ima Sakhi

IMPHAL, Jan 25
Many organisations of the State have expressed deepest condolences over the demise of Phanjoubam Sakhi Leima  popularly known as 'Ima Sakhi', president of Apunba Manipur Kanba Ima Lup who passed away yesterday evening.
Indigenous People's Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) Manipur, the Protection and Preservation Committee, Manipur (PPCM), All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), All Club Organisation, Association and Meira Paibi Lup (ACOAM-Lup), Chanura Lamchinglel Kangleipak (CLK),  People's Action for National Democratic Movement (PANDM), Manipuri Chanura Leishem Marup (MACHA LEIMA), National Identity Protection Council (NIPCO), All Manipur Progressive Farmers' Association (AMPFA) and All Manipur Women's Social Reformation & Development Samaj (AMWSRDS) in different statements expressed grief over the demise of Ima Sakhi and recalled the relentless efforts made by her in the heed of the State.
The organisations remembered Ima Sakhi as an eminent women leader who spearheaded many important issues of the State and who fought actively against the draconian AFSPA 1958, extra judicial killings, substance abuse among others.
Ima Sakhi also played a major role in women's issue and was a guiding light to the youths who was a mother figure to all.
She strove to strengthen the bond of love and harmony among the people of the hills and the valley.
The organisations maintained that her demise is a big loss for the State and will leave an irreparable void and prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace.
Also condolences were extended to the bereaved family.
