CPI writes to CEC
IMPHAL, Jan 10 : The Communist Party of India Manipur State Council (CPI MSC) has written to the Chief Election Commissioner apprising the commission about alleged official processing to issue back dated orders after the model code of conduct has come into effect on Jan 8.
In a letter written to the CEC, CPI MSC said some student bodies of the State have made open allegations that the Government has made certain approval, after the model code of conduct had come into effect, including conversion of some aided colleges into full-fledged Government colleges by collecting huge sums of money. The allegations were also widely published in various local dailies, added the letter.
CPI MSC added in the letter that in addition to this, various Government departments are also in the process of issuing back-dated orders.
The party appealed the CEC to look into the matter, verify the veracity of all official approvals and orders of the State Government which were not made public (by uploading on official websites, published in newspapers or displayed on notice boards of concerned offices) by Jan 8, 2022 and take up punitive actions against those in power including Ministers and high ranking officials in-charge who are involved in such undemocratic malpractice against the interest of free and fair election.
