To provide 24x7 power supply in Manipur, Managing Director of Manipur State Power Distribution Company Limited (MSPDCL) informed the general public that prepaid meter installation and activation in each and every households will be started from September 10, 2021.
The Managing Director in a notification further requested to all the unauthorised electricity users to visit the nearest Sub-Division and register as a regular MSPDCL consumer.
If any such illegal or unauthorised user is encountered during the prepaid meter installation drive of MSPDCL, they are liable to be penalised for disconnection of upto two years under the Electricity Act 2003 Section 135, added the notification. It also requested all consumers not to indulge in any bypassing or tampering with the electric meter to avoid penalty under the Electricity Act 2003.
Lastly the general public have been requested to support and cooperate with MSPDCL in its endeavour to provide 24x7 quality power supply in Manipur.
