DESAM appeals
IMPHAL, Sep 2
Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has questioned why someone who was engaged on contractual basis has been given charge of 'Principal' as well as 'Registrar' of Dental College, JNIMS.
In a statement issued today, DESAM said Dr Nidaresh D Hedge was engaged on contractual basis and he has been given charge of both the posts of Principal as well as Registrar despite a number of qualified regular staff in the institute. DESAM added that Dr Nidaresh also does not stay at his allotted quarter nor does he come to the institute on a regular basis, which has hampered normal functioning of the Dental College. DESAM appealed to the Government and JNIMS authorities to appoint qualified regular individuals on the said posts and also to retract the recommendation sent by the Government to make Dr Nidaresh D Hedge as member of Dental Council of India.
