Convene special session to table ADC Bill : ATSUM

IMPHAL, Sep 11: The consultative meeting with civil society organizations of Ukhrul district convened by All Tribal Students' Union, Manipur (ATSUM) to discuss the Hill Areas Committee (HAC) recommended Manipur (Hill Areas) Autonomous District Council Bill, 2021, resolved that the Manipur Government should convene a special session of the Assembly to table the HAC recommended ADC Bill 2021.
Another resolution adopted in the meeting is "the reason for withdrawal of the Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker’s orders is declared unacceptable as it is not based on the ‘Rules of Procedures and Conduct of Business’ in the Manipur Legislative Assembly read with Article 371-C".
The meeting also adopted a resolution that  the decision of All Tribal Students’ Union, Manipur (ATSUM) to boycott the State Government's programme ‘Go to Hills 2.0’ is endorsed and the boycott movement will continue until the HAC recommended ADC Bill 2021 is tabled, and the Speaker’s order is withdrawn appropriately.
ATSUM, ANSAM, KSO-GHQ, TNL, TSL, TMNL, TKS, KSO-Ukhrul, TNWL participated in the meeting, according to the ATSUM leaders.
