‘Rotary Egg Bank’ launched

Rotary Club of Imphal (RID 3240) launched ‘Rotary Egg Bank’ at three children homes namely Hope Home at Langjing, Punya Home at Thangmeiband and Stephanos Home at Leimakhong today.
The Rotary Club in a press release said that ‘Rotary Egg Bank’, a noble community service project of the club will benefit nearly 100 children of these three homes. A child at the home will get four eggs per week free of cost.
Egg bank will be run purely with the eggs procured from local farms which will indirectly benefit the local poultry farmers and this project will be run purely with the support of its members and will be expanded to other homes in the State gradually, added the statement.
During the launching of Rotary egg bank held at Hope Home at Langjing, the Club also handed over one inverter set with battery to Hope Home which was donated by former member of the club, Santosh Prasad.
Also Rotarian M Harekrishna, provided dinner for the day at Hope Home.
Speaking on the occasion, Devkumar Thoudam, president of Rotary Club of Imphal said that egg has been proved to be a complete food with all required vitamins and proteins for all the ages.
Rotary Egg Bank is a gift to the loving children to stay healthy acknowledging the need for a stronger immunity during this covid-19 pandemic, he added.
