Extend monetary aid to vendors of 3 Ima Keithel, says All Manipur Nupi Marup

All Manipur Nupi Marup appealed to the State Government to extend monetary aid to the vendors of the three Ima Keithel who are facing immense hardships due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The Nupi Marup in a press release stated that due to imposition of total containment zone by the State Government to curb the further spread of the dreaded Coronavirus, the three Ima Keithel have been shut for more than 4 months and owing to which the women folk of the said Keithel are gruelling to sustain themselves and their families.
Since the Covid situation slightly subsided from July onwards, the Government has relaxed the curfew and restrictions and have allowed shops in Paona and Thangal Bazar and other local shops to open on rotational basis except for the three Ima Keithel, added the statement.
Considering the plights of the women vendors of the three Ima Keithel, the All Manipur Nupi Marup sought the attention of the Government into the matter and appealed to deposit an amount of Rs 7,500 (Rupees seven thousand and five hundred) to the accounts of all the women vendors.
The women body also said that women folk of the three Ima Keithel have been worst hit by the COVID-19 and no welfare schemes have been initiated for them by the Government.
