All Manipur Nupi Marup held a virtual meeting to condole the demise of Asem Pushparani Devi who was the former president of the Marup
She passed away on August 29 due to an illness at her residence at Khundrakpam, said a press release by All Manipur Nupi Marup.
Apart from being a former president of All Manipur Nupi Marup, she was also an executive member of National Federation of Indian Women.
During the condolence meeting, her pivotal role in important movements concerning AFSPA, rights of women, and drug menace problems were recalled.
The women body expressed profound grief over her demise and prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace and also extended the condolences to the bereaved family.
A condolence meeting was held today at the office of All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) to condole the untimely demise of Ima Chingangbam Ongbi Rashitombi, former president of the North Imphal United Clubs and Meira Paibee Organisation (NIUCAMO).
The condolence meeting was jointly organised by AMUCO, Manipuri Students Federation (MSF), Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur and All Manipur Women Voluntary Association (AMAWOVA), said a joint statement issued by the said organisations.
Two minutes silence was observed in honour of the departed soul and prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace.
The countless contributions of Ima Rashitombi in the major issues of AFSPA and Meira Paibee movement were remembered and lauded.
The North Imphal United Clubs and Meira Paibee Organisation (NIUCAMO) also mourned the demise of Ima Rashitombi.
In a press release, NIUCAMO said that the State has lost an eminent women leader and her demise will leave an irreparable void.
The organisation prayed for the peace of the departed soul and also extended condolences to the bereaved family.
