Manipur returns to two figure daily positivity rate with 11.2 pc 387 positive cases, 4 deaths recorded

IMPHAL, Aug 29 : After recording sub 10 percent daily positivity rate for the past two days, Manipur returned to a daily positivity rate of above the 10 percent mark with 387 persons returning positive results out of a total of 3469 samples tested to log 11.2 percent positivity rate today.
Simultaneously more persons were discharged with 419 than the number of new cases (387) detected to take the cumulative number of recovered cases to 1,08,161 including 4,086 Central security personnel.
Four deaths due to the virus was also reported in the last 24 hours to take the total number of deceased persons due to the virus to 1779.
The deceased persons were from Imphal East (3) and Imphal West (1).
Out of the 4 persons who passed away due to the virus, three of them had co-morbidities and none of them had been vaccinated, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
The 387 persons who returned positive results included 3 Central security personnel and their positive status was confirmed at RIMS (19), JNIMS (47), District Hospitals (242) and other testing centres (79).
The 384 positive cases from amongst the general population are from Imphal East (52), Imphal West (159), Thoubal (35), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (13), Ukhrul (10), Churachandpur (38), Chandel (8), Senapati (5), Tamenglong (16), Tengnoupal (1), Noney (2), Pherzawl (30) and Kangpokpi (1).
The 419 persons discharged during the last 24 hours are from home isolation (168), RIMS (5), JNIMS (14), CCCs (158) and CHICs (74). The recovery rate is 95.44 percent.
With the addition of 387 new cases the cumulative number of infected persons in the State has gone up to 1,13,328 including 4,107 Central security personnel.
The number of active cases is now 3,388 inclusive of  16 Central security personnel.
On August 28, a total of 7161 people received their vaccination  jabs to take the total to 15,18,836 including 3,33,985 people who have received their second dose.
A total of 1340 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 359 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres in the last 24 hours.
The number of beds as enumerated by the COVID-19 Common Control Room is RIMS (General beds-138, ICU-16), JNIMS (General beds-47),  Iland Hospital, free of cost (General beds-14), MSF, Little Flower School, free of cost (General beds-8, ICU-7), CMC Koirengei (General beds-29, ICU-5), Iboyaima Hospital, Singjamei (General beds-25, ICU-3), Jivan Hospital, Kakching (General beds-16, ICU-6), Shija Hospital (General beds-35, ICU-27), Raj Medicity (General beds- 70, ICU-16).
