Zeliangrong Union appeals

The Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and Haipou Jadonang Park Development & Death Anniversary Committee appealed to all the clubs, villages, Churches to observe the death anniversary at their respective localities by observing COVID-19 protocols.
The Union also appealed to the people to light a candle in every household in the evening as a mark of respect and honour of the departed freedom fighter, said a statement of Zeliangrong Union (AMN).
It may be mentioned that the freedom fighter, Haipou Jadonang, death anniversary has been observed every year by Haipou Jadonang Park Development & Death Anniversary Committee under the aegis of Zeliangrong Union (AMN) at Haipou Jadonang Memorial Park, Keishampat.
However, the forthcoming 90th death anniversary which is to be held on August 29 would not be organised as usual due to the present trend of COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
Therefore, only floral tributes would be paid in the morning at 6.30 am by the organising committee and dignitaries, it concluded.
