Vulgar messages
IMPHAL, Aug 19 : Cyber Crime Police Station (CCPS) Manipur arrested 21 year old Mohd Sajid Khan of Kshetri Awang Leikai for allegedly sending vulgar messages to a Facebook user on August 17 last. According to a press release of PRO Manipur Police, the accused Mohd Sajid Khan, s/o Mohd Sakip Khan was arrested in connection with a complaint lodged by the mother of the 'victim'.
Claiming that the accused having a Facebook profile name "Prince Ali" sent vulgar words to the complainant daughter and threatened that morphed photos of hers would be uploaded on social media if the victim did not send her mobile number and nude photos, the PRO said that the CCPS has seized 3 mobile phones along with SIM cards used in commissioning the crime.
The statement mentioned that two other cases were also registered against Sajid Khan at CCPS for commissioning similar crime by creating fake Facebook accounts “Henthoi Apng" and "Sathiba Pakhng."
On the other hand , the accused was produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West on Wednesday along with a prayer for 6 days police custody remand.
The IO of the case through APP submitted that on June 14 last, Sub Inspector of CCPS submitted an enquiry report regarding the complaint filed by the victim's mother on April 24.
During the enquiry , it was found that Facebook accounts having profile name 'Prince Ali' and 'Thokchom Kithut' sent vulgar words and pornographic videos to the victim randomly, the IO said.
Saying that the Facebook accounts Prince Ali and Thokchom Kithut were not found active simultaneously, the IO maintained that Mohd Sajid Khan was arrested in connection with the case. The Court on perusal of the case and after hearing the submission of the IO remanded Mohd Sajid Khan to six days police custody till August 23 for investigation of the case.
