RS MP urges

IMPHAL, Aug 9 : Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba has urged upgrading Manipur University of Culture (MUC) to a Central University in today's sitting of the ongoing Monsoon session. 
Bringing up the demand as a special mention at the Parliament, the MP said that the MUC was established in 2015 to promote the rich cultural heritage of Manipur.
The contribution of Manipur in the field of performing arts and sports to the Nation is a  well known fact , the MP said and added that students from other States and neighbouring countries are also learning the culture of Manipur at the University.
However, running the University is difficult as the financial resources of the State is limited, the MP continued and urged the Centre to upgrade MUC to the level of a Central University so as to provide better facilities to the students.
