MHRC issues notices

IMPHAL, Aug 9 : Registering a suo-motu case on the alleged shortage of fertilisers for farmers during the cultivation season, the Manipur Human Rights Commission (MHRC) has issued notices to the Commissioner and Director of the Agriculture Department to take necessary action on or before August 19.
MHRC observed that the suo motu case has been taken up as shortage of fertilisers is violation of rights guaranteed in the Constitution of India.
The response should be filed by August 19, it ruled.
