IMPHAL, Jul 17 : The Directorate of Agriculture has informed all concerned that the notified rate of fertilizer for Manipur per 45 kg is Rs 266.80 and as such fertilizer should not be sold more than the rate fixed by the Government.
As per Clause 3 (3) of the Fertilizer (Control) Order 1985, no dealer, manufacturer, importer or pool handling agency shall sell or offer for sale any fertilizer at the price exceeding the maximum price or rate fixed, said the Director of Agriculture in a circular issued today.
The Director while noting recent reports in local dailies highlighting the sale of urea fertilizer at a price higher than the maximum retail price in the market, stated that the Department is trying to obtain specific inputs on these reported incidents and further informed that any specific input on such sale can be reported to District Agriculture Officer (DFO) concerned or via afochingmeirong12@gmail.com.
The Director further directed all DFOs/ Fertilizer Inspectors to submit their inspection/verification report of their respective district relating to sale of urea fertilizer at higher price.
Only registered certificate/license holders can carry out the sale of fertilizer as per the Fertilizer (Control) Order 1985, the Director said while adding that necessary action will be initiated as per the order if any unauthorized individual is found to have sold or selling urea fertilizer at a rate higher than the notified price.
