All Manipur Christian Organisation, in a statement issued today, informed that in view of the increasing number of Covid-19 infection, a joint meeting of leaders of all the religious groups of Manipur with the Chief Minister, N Biren Singh was held on June 2, 2021 at the CM's administrative Bungalow.
The meeting resolved to take up two things: to set aside a day for everyone to pray to God confessing our sins and ask for forgiveness and for His mercy to stop the pandemic and to appeal to all the pastors and church leadership to create awareness about the pandemic to the whole Christian populace.
Accordingly, the All Manipur Christian Organisation (AMCO) appealed to all the churches irrespective of denominations to kindly comply with the following-
Firstly, special Prayer Session be conducted on June 6, 2021(Sunday) Morning. Every family is requested to kindly pray in their own houses in the early hours of the day avoiding food and drink.
The prayer shall be focused on the following points: Confess all our sins and wrongdoings committed to our God, repent and give up all unrighteous behaviours which oppose the Lord; Earnestly pray to the Lord that in His Mercy and in the Name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, this dreaded Covid-19 pandemic be removed and life on our State be brought back to normalcy; Pray that our people may learn to love God wholeheartedly and fellow people as we love ourselves through this Pandemic and thus start a better society.
Secondly, all the Pastors, church leaders and leaders/workers of Church Associations/para-church organisations etc are humbly requested kindly to engaged in creating awareness about the pandemic and the need to strictly follow the SOP (standard operating procedure) advised by the Government which is for our own good.
