Contract pact cancelled
IMPHAL, May 7: The Government has cancelled a contract agreement which engaged Dr K Rajo Singh as Director of Medical and Health Services, Manipur for a period of six months after his retirement.
An order to this effect issued yesterday showed the agreement between the State Health Department and Dr K Rajo Singh was signed on November 30, 2020 for the latter to hold the post of Director, Medical & Health Services for a period of six months wef December 1, 2020.
The order cancelling the agreement came after the High Court of Manipur quashed the contract engagement of Dr K Rajo as Director Health Services on January 22 last. The said contract was challenged by Dr P Shyamsunder Singh.
Notably, the High Court on April 28 had also taken up a contempt case against State respondents for not complying with its January 22 order, which quashed the signed contract between State Health Department and Dr K Rajo.
