Hawkers appeal

IMPHAL, May 6: The Manipur Hawkers’ Association has urged the Government to declare newspapers hawkers as frontline warriors and give priority in vaccination against COVID-19.
Hawkers are serving the society. Without them, the print media would be meaningless. Hawkers collect newspapers and they circulate/distribute it to the people across the State. Considering the role they play amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the hawkers should be declared frontline workers and given priority in vaccination, said Laikhuram Surjit Singh, secretary, Manipur Hawkers’ Association.
