AMPSUM urges

IMPHAL, May 4: The All Meetei Pangal Students’ Union of Manipur (AMPSUM) has appealed authorities concerned and the Government to find out the truth behind the death of Sanaton Athokpam and deliver justice at the earliest.
In a statement today, AMPSUM denounced that the police are yet to file an FIR in the case and the details of the postmortem report have not been disclosed.
The union has been supporting the Justice For Sanaton Athokpam from the beginning and will continue to lend hands in its future course of actions, it said.
It may be noted that Sanaton Athokpam was a 5th Semester MBBS student at RIMS. He was reportedly found hanging with both his hands tied behind inside his room at a RIMS hostel on March 15.
AMPSUM noted that Sanaton Athokpam was a brilliant student, who excelled academically. He was a position holder in the Class X and XII examinations and he was also the State’s 2nd position holder in the NEET examination.
