Gun attack

TENGNOUPAL, May 28: Unknown assailants fired at the residence of Manipur Pradesh BJP ST Morcha vice president, Lhangum J Khongsai at Gamnom Veng, Moreh Ward No 2 at around 10 pm yesterday, reports our correspondent.
The unknown persons fired three rounds of bullets damaging glass windows of the house, the residential gate and a two wheeler vehicle. No one was hurt in the incident.
After the incident, police visited the residence and conducted search operations in the area.
Lhangum J Khongsai strongly condemned the attack at his house and said he doesn’t know the reason behind the attack.
Stating he doesn’t have enmity  with anybody that could trigger the life threatening attack, Lhangum appealed to the Government to investigate the incident and arrest the individuals or group responsible for the attack.
ST Morcha, BJP Manipur Pradesh, general secretary (adm), Leisan C also condemned the attack stating it put the lives of innocent people at risk.
In a statement, he also urged the authorities concerned to provide security to Lhangum and appealed to the individuals or groups concerned to resolve  any misunderstanding with Lhangum through mutual talks.
Khongsai Youth Union, Tamenglong and Jiribam Branch and BJP Tengnouapl Mandal have also strongly condemned the attack yesterday.
