Prof succumbs

IMPHAL, May 26 : Professor Dr Vareso NK (57), a renowned academician of the Tangkhul community succumbed to COVID-19 at JNIMS Hospital today.
Orginally from Nambasi Khullen under Kasom Khullen sub-division, Kam-jong district but staying at Nagaram at the time of his death, Dr Vareso earned a PhD in Law. He was admitted to JNIMS for treatment on May 10.
Dr Vareso is survived by his wife and three children.
Following the news of his demise, Assembly Hill Areas Committee, Chairman MLA K Leishiyo said Dr Vareso’s demise is a great loss for the Tangkhul community and Manipur.
He was not only an academician and a social thinker, but also a spiritual person, Leishiyo said in a condolence message. He prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
