IMPHAL, May 26: Farmers’ Joint Action Committee, Manipur (FJAC) extending support to the historic farmers’ movement, observed ‘Black Day’ today on the call of farmers’ organizations.
FJAC in a press release said that the farmers across the country have been protesting for six months against the three black agricultural laws on the borders of Delhi. Instead of agreeing to their demands, the BJP Government at the centre has been busy in going ahead with its wicked agenda.
The Committee urged the Union Government to revoke the three farm laws at the earliest.
It may be mentioned that the farm laws were passed despite massive country wide protests as the provisions of these laws would devastate not just the small marginal farmers but also severely affect the rural and urban  labourers as the prices of agricultural produce would increase manifold.
The farmers’ organizations also extended gratitude to the people of the State for observing 'Black Day' where many protested against the laws by holding black flags and placards.
FJAC, the joint forum for farmers resolved to continue the movement against these black agricultural laws until it is revoked.
