Many extend condolence

Many organisations and individuals condoled the demise of distinguished personalities of the State over the past few days.
Members of Patriotic Writers Forum (PAWF) Manipur, Assam and Tripura held a condolence meeting online today to condole the demise of Dr Th Suresh Singh, who was a lifetime member of the forum, a renowned doctor and scholar of Manipur.
The condolence meeting was attended by Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, president of PAWF Manipur and its secretary Rakesh Naorem, Gurumayum Biplab Sharma, president of PAWF, Tripura, Raju Maibam, secretary of PAWF Assam and patron members of PAWF Manipur along with its executive members, said a press release of the Forum.
Saddened by the demise of Dr Th Suresh Singh, Rakesh Naorem said many leaders and pillars of strength for the Forum namely Professor Jodhachandra Sanasam, former president of the Forum and editor of 'Ngaklou' publications, Kesho Singh Irengba have succumbed to COVID-19 which will be an irreparable loss for the Forum.
Members of the Forum recalled the esteemed contributions of Dr Th Suresh Singh towards the field of literature of Manipur and stated that it will continue to enlighten the present and future generations as well.
The members prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace and also extended condolence to the bereaved family.
Ethno Heritage Council (HERICOUN) mourned the demise of Akoijam Janaki Leima, a leader of Momnu Erikkhombi Lup (MEEKHOL).
In a condolence message, HERICOUN remembered Akoijam Janaki Leima for her active participation in the major issues of the State and was a guiding light for the members of HERICOUN.
She strived earnestly for the welfare of downtrodden women and for the development of tradition and culture of Manipuri not only in Manipur but also for those residing in Assam and other parts of the country, HERICOUN added.
The members prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace at the Heavenly abode.
Stating that the demise of Akoijam Janaki Leima as a huge loss for the State, Uttra Shanglen, Sana Konung condoled her demise and said her countless contributions towards the State will always be remembered.
Dr Borcocatei, independent director of North East Power Corporation (NEEPCO) and Pouphullung Kamei, BJP worker in separate statements expressed grief at the demise of Professor S Tiken Singh who was the president of BJP, Manipur State.
S Tiken Singh was remembered as a firm, foresighted and dedicated leader who made countless contributions to strengthen BJP and stated that his demise will be a huge loss for the State.
The faculty, officers, staff and students of Manipur University held a condolence meeting today at the Committee room of the University condoling the demise of Kh Nabachandra Singh who was a chowkidar of the varsity and M Subhasini Devi who was a laboratory attendant at Manipur Institute of Technology.
The University community paid homage to the departed souls by observing two minute silence and also shared the grief and loss of the bereaved families.
Nupee Khunai Meira Paibee condoled the demise of RK Sanahanbi who was the publicity secretary of Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibee Apunba Manipur and prayed that the departed soul may rest in peace.
Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) expressed sorrow at the sudden demise of Tongbram Prembala who was the general secretary of Meira Paibee Welfare Association Kangleipak (MEPWAK).
Two minute silence was observed praying for the peace of the departed soul and MSF stated that her demise will be a huge loss for the State.
