Errant doc suspended

IMPHAL, May 21: The State Government has placed one Dr Yahia Khan, Specialist (Obs and Gynae) under suspension until further orders for not joining his new place of posting at Ukhrul District Hospital.
Notably The Sangai Express had earlier reported about the failure of doctors refusing to report for duty at Ukhrul District Hospital.
The suspension order was served after a disciplinary proceeding was initiated against Dr Yahia, MO of District Hospital Thoubal for wilful disobedience of Government order by failing to join his new place of posting as Specialist (Obs and Gynae), District Hospital, Ukhrul.
The Government also ordered that the headquarters of Dr Yahia Khan will be Imphal during the suspension period.
He should report every day to the Director of Health Services, Manipur and should not leave the headquarters without obtaining previous permission from competent authority, the Government order said.
