MPCC condoles
IMPHAL, May 18
Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) condoled the sudden demise of former Ministers Laisom Lalit and Vivek Raj Wangkhem.
Govindas Konthoujam, president, MPCC said in a condolence message that Congress leader Laisom Lalit was a distinguished political leader and served as president of MPCC from 1980 to 1985 and had represented Keishamthong AC in 1984 and also served as a Minister.
The party flag was flown at half mast in recognition of his service and dedication for the party. His death is a huge loss to not just the Congress Party but also for the people of Manipur, added the message.
In another message released, MPCC condoled the demise of Vivek Raj Wangkhem who had represented Kshetrigao AC for two times in 2001 (Bye election) and 2002 and became a Minister and was also National General Secretary of National People's Party (NPP).
Following the footsteps of his late father, Vivek Raj Wangkhem spent most of his life in politics and in service of the people and he also made relentless efforts to promote communal harmony in the State, Govindas Konthoujam said in the message.
MPCC extended their deepest condolence to the family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
