ASHA workers appeal

IMPHAL, May 16
All Manipur Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) Workers' Union appealed the Government to cover ASHA workers under the benefits schemes made available to doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.
The union appealed this in a statement issued today and said the ASHA workers had been working since the first wave of the pandemic to ensure that people in home isolation gets the medical care they including their medications, blood pressure reading and SPO2 readings etc.
The statement added that despite all the dangers that comes with the second wave of the pandemic, ASHA have continued the work. In light of this, the union appealed the Government to cover ASHA workers with the incentive schemes for front line workers.
