IMPHAL, May 12: Law and Legislative Affairs Minister Th Satyabrata Singh has greeted the people of Manipur especially the Muslim brethren a joyous Eid-ul-Fitr which falls on May 14 this year.
In his message, he said, 'The spiritual significance of Eid-ul-Fitr focuses on the occasion of breaking the month-long dawn to sunset fast of Ramadan. It is celebrated to pay respect to Allah for providing strength and endurance during the month-long fasting rituals. It marks the time for feasting, rejoicing and thankfulness and is truly a festival of charity and self introspection.'
He also appealed to all to get vaccinated, follow SOP and take precautions to redress the second wave of COVID-19 in the State.
Many student organisations and civil society organisations namely All Meetei Pangal Students Union of Manipur (AMPSUM), All India Tanzeem-e-Insaaf (AITI), Manipur State Council, Pangal Students Organisation (PSO) and Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) also extended their greetings to the people of Manipur on the joyous occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and prayed for a developed, harmonious and unified society.
Further they appealed to all to strictly adhere to SOPs laid down by the State and to be extra cautious in order to protect oneself from the deadly COVID-19 pandemic.
