The Pencak Silat Association of Manipur has extended heartfelt greetings to the Manipuri athletes who made the State proud by winning many medals at the 7th National Pencak Silat Championship 2020-21.
33 athletes and 3 officials from Manipur took part in the championship held from March 24 to 31, said a statement of the Pencak Silat Association of Manipur (PSAM).
A Sarjubala (Senior 60-65 kg), Y Sanamacha (Senior 70-75 kg), U Herojit (Open Class), Naorem Boynao (Tungal), H Bishan (Ganda), Th Johnson (Ganda), Y Rustam Singh (Junior 51-54 kg), S Ronaldo Meitei (Junior Ganda), A Rohit (Junior Ganda), W Kabita Devi (Sub-Junior 42-45 kg), L Sophiya Devi (Sub-Jr 45-48 kg), S Diana Devi (Sub Jr 48-51 kg) and E Atomba Singh (Pre-teen 30-32 kg) brought home gold medals from the championship, said PSAM.
M Kumudini Chanu (Sr 55-60 kg), Kh Jotin (Sr 65-70 kg), S Ronaldo (Jr 57-60 kg), Th Rita Devi (Jr 51-54 kg) and H Pansangakpa (Sub-Jr 51-54 kg) on the other hand won silver medals as N Ophesh (Sr 90-95 kg), H Merina (Jr 48-51 kg) and Dolly Leishangthem (Jr 39-44 kg) bagged bronze medals, it said. The State team were led by Laishram Ranjit Singh as team manager, Ningthoujam Robindro as head coach and Y Kiran as the assistant coach, it said while adding that N Boynao from Manipur also officiated as referee at the championship.
