Save Chakpi River campaign held

CHANDEL , Mar 6: The Monsang Pantha Youth and Cultural Club carried out a one day cleanliness drive along the Chakpi (Chachii) river stretch of Monsang Pantha village from United College Hanging bridge till Ellu, today.
The drive began with a prayer led by the village Church Catechist, Ng Johnson Monsang in the presence of village authorities, women and youth leaders of the village.
The cleanliness drive is conducted every year with the objective to keep the only fresh water source clean and unpolluted. The Chakpi river flows through Monsang Pantha village from Thanking Iron bridge till the United College Hanging bridge.
The Youth Club president, Ng Salim Peter while speaking on the occasion said that the village is blessed by God with the beautiful river and urged the youth to spread the awareness of keeping the river clean.
