Stakeholders meeting on assessment of Manipur health benefits packages held

A Stakeholder Meeting on Assessment of Manipur Health Benefit Packages, under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was held at Dynasty Hall, Classic Grande, Chingmeirong, Imphal yesterday.
Speaking as Chief Guest, MLA and Advisor ( Health ) to Chief Minister, Manipur Sapam Ranjan Singh said that the schemes of the state and the centre of AB-PMJAY would give benefits to the poor people of the state especially rural people of the state who are hand to mouth will be relieved by the schemes.
Principal Secretary (Health & Family Welfare), Vumlunmang Vualnam also attended the meeting as functional president and highlighted about Assessment of Manipur Health Benefits Packages: Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB- PMJAY).
It was mention that Ayusman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY ) is a health Scheme that provides free hospitalization and free treatment of upto Rs5,00,000 per family per year to cover 10.70 crores poor and vulnerable families of the country. It was launched on 23rd September, 2018 by the Prime Minister of India. The primary objective is to provide free of cost, accessible quality healthcare services to the poor and vulnerable groups of society.
For those not covered under AB-PMJAY, the State has its own health insurance scheme-Chief Ministergi Hakselgi Tengbang (CMHT) for AAY Ration Card Holder,Widow, differently abled, local media persons, newspaper hawkers, driver and other poor families of the State. The State’s Health Scheme provides free hospitalization benefits of upto Rs 2 lakh per year per family for secondary and tertiary treatment. CMHT was launched by Chief minister of Manipur N Biren Singh on 21st January 2018 prior to the national launch of AB-PMJAY.
State Health Agency, Manipur is the implementing Agency of PM-JAY in the State. In Manipur, over 14.08 lakh individuals are entitled beneficiaries of PMJAY of which 2.9lakhs have so far been verified and have received their PMJAY Cards.
Dr Kavitha Rajashekhar Karan, DHR, MOHFW; Professor Shanker Prinja, PGI, Chandigarh; Dr Eliza Dutta, PRH NER and DR Maninder Pal Singh, PGI also attended the conference as a resource persons and spoke about various topic on assessment of Health Benefit packages through video conferencing. Mercina R Pamei, Chief Officer, State Health Agency Manipur and Professor Sandra Albert, Director Indian Institute of Public Health, Shillong & RRH-HTAIn also attended as Guests of Honour.
Officials from Health Departments, Medical Superintendent of Shija and Sky Hospital, CMOs from Churachandpur district hospital, Thoubal and Tamenglong Hospital also participate in the meeting.
