Security meet held

IMPHAL, Mar 19 : Shangshak Battalion of Assam Rifles organised a village security meet at Gamnoum today.
The meet was organised in the view of current escalating security situation in Myanmar and its implications for the border villages of Manipur and was attended by  village headmen and village authorities of Gamnoum, Hoyang, Singcha, Changa, upper Nungo, Lower Nungo, pushing, Yentem villages, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles. It was conveyed to the village authorities that the role of village headman is critical for establishing peace and stability in the area and guiding the locals against any illegal activities in the area, added the statement.
The village members were specifically made aware of the present situation in Myanmar and were asked to convey to all the villagers to report any Myanmar locals trying to infiltrate into Indian villages for taking refuge, added the statement.
