PREPAK (Pro) claims

IMPHAL, Mar 11 : Claiming responsibility for the grenade attack at the transit camp of the Assam Rifles at Minuthong last evening, the PREPAK (Pro) today said that the attack was carried out just to convey the message that the security forces can also be struck. The attack was  carried out by the Cobra Task Force of the outfit, despite knowing that no extensive damage would be inflicted.
In a statement, the outfit reminded that the mighty USA managed to defeat the Axis power in WWII, managed to weaken USSR during the Cold War but yet stood defeated against small Vietnam. Likewise India, with her vast Army defeated  Pakistan in the 1971 war and managed to carve out Bangladesh, but still cannot subdue the armed movement in the North East region and Kashmir, added the outfit.
Strong and big Nations may have emerged victorious in big wars but they have all tasted defeat at the hands of smaller Nations in wars fought on political ideologies, said PREPAK (Pro) and added that the ‘political leaders’ of Manipur can never address the issues of the land by listening to Modi and Shah.
Taking a dig at the recent ‘homecoming ceremony,’ the outfit said  such tactics has not been able to take Manipur on the right path in the fight against drugs.
Instead of framing strict laws to penalise those openly operating drug manufacturing units, the Government is busy organising such a ‘homecoming ceremony’ just to quell the armed movement, alleged the outfit.
No one would grudge anything if the security forces, which are infamous for killing innocent civilians, turn their might against the drug cartel, said PREPAK (Pro) and added that turning into newsmakers just by impounding some drugs would not serve the purpose.
If the Government is serious then it would not take more than a month for the security forces to expose all the big drug dealers, alleged PREPAK (Pro) and added that if such a course of action is taken, then all the CSOs and the public would extend their co-operation.
The reason why no such course of action has been taken up is because the election in Manipur is largely sponsored by drug money, alleged the outfit further.
