IMPHAL, Feb 7: Lungheinzoing Hao, former chairman of Zem nui Yangkhullen village has sought Government's intervention at the earliest in safeguarding Meiko Rezai popularly known as Dzuko.
Speaking to reporters at his residence yesterday at Zemnui Yangkhullen village which is around 61 kilometres away from Maram in Senapati district, Lungheinzoing Hao stated that South Angami People's Organisation (SAPO) and locals of Mao and Maram have been claiming that the region of Dzuko till Chungwangre belong to them while it belongs to Manipur and the villagers of Yangkhullen have been safeguarding the said place since time immemorial.
He continued that the river which runs in the middle of Dzuko bifurcates the two States of Manipur and Nagaland and asserted that that the region till Chungwangre and Hefo Ko (Samu lambi) belongs to Manipur and there are enough proofs to validate the same.
He therefore sought the Government's attention to protect the land of Manipur and also to construct a road till Dzuko from Chungwangre at the earliest.
