DESAM clinch Manipur Players' Day Invitation Football Championship title

IMPHAL, Feb 25 : The Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) observed Manipur Players' Day 2021 at Chajing Kangjeibung at Lilong Chajing Awang Leikai, today.
At the observance, president MSF, Sazad Bhuiyamayum stated that the federation has been observing the day since 2018 commemorating Manipur winning overall champions title at 5th National Game in 1999.
February 25 was declared Manipur Players' Day by the then Chief Minister Nipamacha.
He urged the people of Manipur to encourage youth to participate in sports.
On the other hand, DESAM emerged champions of the Manipur Players' Day Invitation Football Championship defeating SUK 1-0 in the final at Tiddim ground.
The tourney which began on February 21 was participated by AMSU, MSF, KSA, SUK, DESAM and AIMS.
Dean, School of Education, Manipur University Professor Takhellambam Inaobi, All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) president Moirangthem Ratan, advisor AMUCO and NRC Wairakpam Gonel and Mingle Club president Engenthaba Meetei attended the programme.
