BISHNUPUR, Dec 26: CPI Bishnupur District under the aegis of CPI Manipur State Council on Sunday observed the 97th Foundation Day of CPI at Open Bhavan, Bishnupur Khwairakpam.
It was attended by CPI National executive member, Dr M Nara; CPI State secretary, L Sotinkumar; CPI Manipur joint secretary, M Joykumar; secretary member, A Lala; joint secretary, Kh Surchand; CPI Bishnupur District Council secretary, K Bimol; CPI intending candidate of Kakching AC, Y Roma and veteran CPI member, P Birchandra as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr M Nara expressed his hope to bring a non-BJP led Government in the state following the 12th Manipur Assembly Election.
He mentioned that there has been no discussion on any pre-poll alliance so far for the upcoming Assembly election.
Stressing on the need to update the electoral system, Dr M Nara stated that it will be impossible to elect the right representative if the same electoral system which is a colonial legacy of the British is followed.
He reiterated the stand of CPI to work for the upliftment of the people.
Dr M Nara further stated that only two candidates of CPI for Khurai AC and Kakching AC have been confirmed while adding preparation to announce other candidates for the upcoming Assembly Election have been made.
