AMGSU clarifies

The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU), Central Committee, AMGSU Serou Unit, Serou Gorkha Yuvak Sangh, Serou Gram Panchayat Ward No 6, Kanglatongbi Gorkha Youth Association and Shantipur Youth Union have jointly clarified regarding the two youths arrested by Assam Police at Karbi Anglong with gold worth Rs 4 crore in a vehicle bearing registration No AS-01-EV-2350.
A release issued by AMGSU clarified that Prakash Basnet was born at Serou Part-I and had been shifted to Kakarvita from Serou seven years ago with his family.
All the names of his families were already deleted from the electoral roll and another Subhas Bista is a resident of Shantipur, Kanglatongbi recently shifted from Karong, Senapati District, it added.
While clarifying that Pakash Basnet was not related to Manipur, the CSOs urged authorities concerned to investigate the matter thoroughly regarding the use of fake Aadhaar cards and take stringent action against the youths for their involvement in illegal gold racket.
Stating that Gorkhas of Manipur will continue to support the Government's "War against drugs" mission, AMGSU warned all to not help the people who have been permanently shifted from the State in fabricating Aadhaar cards in the future.
AMGSU further urged the village level leaders to not encourage such persons in generating fraud documents.
