Local bodies decry intimidation

IMPHAL, Dec 25 : The Thouda Bhabok Leikai Mei-ra Paibi Lup and the Chaokhat Thourang Kang-lup have strongly con- demned the intimidation of Team Nishikant members by some men by brandishing gun magazine  on December 23 last.
Speaking to media persons, advisor of the  Meira Paibi lup, Soraisam ongbi Shantileima  stated that the incident happened near Likla  Bakery at Thouda Bhabok Leikai on December 23.
Saying that indulgence in such narrow politics is rather unfortunate for the entire Manipur, she urged all concerned to shun all forms of poll related violence and intimidation in future.
Everyone has the right to choose their candidates, she said and also urged the State Government to look into the matter with utmost seriousness as pre-poll violence has escalated to homicide in a certain Constituency.
She further urged the Government to arrest the persons who intimidated members of  Team Nishikant.
