Heirok incident denounced

IMPHAL, Dec 24
All Meetei Pangal Students' Union of Manipur (AMPSUM), Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) and All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) have strongly condemned the killing of Ningthoujam Rohit (21) from Heirok in an incident of poll related violence.
Strongly condemning the killing, a joint statement from AMPSUM and SSUM demanded the State Government to apprehend the culprits responsible for this senseless death of an innocent young student.
The joint statement also appealed to the Govt to keep a keen eye on these increasing instances of poll related violence with the goal of putting a stop to them.
All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) in a statement alleged that the failure of the Thoubal Police and Heirok Police in apprehending these hooligans has led to the culmination of the unfortunate incident of December 22 which left an innocent student dead.
As such, AMNM has demanded the immediate termination of Thoubal Police SP, Addl SP, OC and Heirok Police OC citing their utter failure in doing their job.
