IMPHAL, Dec 21
Reacting to the news item published on December 19 wherein it was reported that certain individuals have ‘fraudulently; taken a loan amounting to Rs 81.60 lakh from the Central Bank of India in the name of 17 locals of Thingba Khullen, Senapati district, R Yuh Jonathan Tao s/o late Raoping of Oinam Hill village has clarified that he was not involved in misappropriation of any kind of money from the locals of Thingba Khullen as complained by the complainants.
Jonathan Tao said that he genuinely thought of helping the Thingba Khullen village which happens to be the village of his wife when the idea of pineapple plantation was proposed to him by one of his acquaintances.
“I helped the locals with pineapple saplings and also financial aid of Rs 10,000 each”, Jonathan said in a press note delivered to press.
He also clarified that he had no roles in any manner in opening bank accounts, withdrawal of money from the accounts or any kind of transactions.
He asserted that the allegation that he (R Yuh Jonathan Tao) in possible collusion with the then Branch Manager of CBI, Senapati had forged documents and signatures of the locals is completely incongruent and false.
He then appealed to the two complainants of Thingba Khullen to look deeply into the matter before making such false allegations and issue a clarification after knowing the whole truth.
