BJP Mahila Morcha tenders apology

IMPHAL, Dec 21: BJP Manipur Pradesh Mahila Morcha president Lourembam Loteeka Leima has tendered an apology to the 82nd Nupi Lan Numit Observation Committee and all the Manipuri mothers.
Speaking to media persons at the Wahengbam Leikai office of the Protection and Preservation Committee, Manipur (PPCM) this afternoon, Loteeka Leima said that the BJP Manipur Pradesh Mahila Morcha too observed the Nupi Lan anniversary at district as well as mandal level.
BJP Manipur Pradesh Mahila Morcha observed the Nupi Lan Day as its office bearers have deep respect for the Manipuri mothers who fought valiantly against the oppressive policies of the colonial British rule, Loteeka said.
However, photographs of BJP leaders of the Centre and the State were inserted or attached in the banners and flags of the Nupi Lan anniversary unintentionally.
“This mistake deeply offended women activists as well as mothers of the State. For this offence, we tender our apology and seek forgiveness from all the mothers and the people of Manipur”, the BJP Manipur Pradesh Mahila Morcha president said.
She said that BJP’s basic ideology is Nation first, party second and self third.
It was this ideology of ‘Nation first’ which inspired the Mahila Morcha to observe the Nupi Lan anniversary but there were some mistakes in the observation, Loteeka admitted.
She then appealed to all the people of Manipur to forgive them for their unwitting mistake.
