Fire destroys

A fire broke out at a water storage factory in today's wee hours at Asufii in Kathikho Karong and destroyed properties worth Rs 29 lakh.
Barak Enterprise, the water storage factory that was destroyed today belonged to one Koveo Joram and it was situated at about 5 km from Senapati Police Station. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
The fire had 'completely' destroyed properties worth Rs 29 lakh including Rs 3.7 lakh in cash and two vehicles, a gypsy and a car, reports our correspondent.
 One of the local residents alleged that the Fire Sub-Station reacted very slowly and didn't pick up their calls.
He also alleged that the fire trucks did not have enough water to extinguish the fire.
Mention may be made that the OC of the Fire Sub-Station at Senapati was earlier suspended for negligence of duties.
