Bandh suspended

IMPHAL, Dec 15 : Hill's Landownership Compensation Demand Committee (HLCDA) has suspended the proposed bandh which is supposed to begin from the midnight of December 16 along the NH-37 between New Keithelmanbi and Charoi-Padongba-Imphal-Jiribam Road.
As per a statement issued today from HLCDA, the bandh has been called off following an earnest appeal from MLA  Ngamthang Haokip who met with the representatives of HLCDA at his residence in Imphal on December 14.
The statement further informed that the MLA has assured to take up the matter of providing compensation against the damages from road expansion and widening with the Chief Minister.
