Mr Manipur Maradona and others felicitated

IMPHAL, Dec 15 : Bodybuilders from Kakching including this year's Mr Manipur title winner Ksh Maradona, overall junior title winner Ksh Niraj (junior 70 kg) and silver medallist at the 1st Boby Classic, Jupiter Yengkhom were felicitated today in a solemn function at the residence of social Yengkhom Nilachandra at Kakching Khullen Paji Leikai.
The felicitation programme was organised by a youth committee under Y Nilachandra who is gearing up to contest the upcoming State Assembly Election from Kakching Assembly Constituency.
Mr Manipur, Ksh Maradona, Ksh Niraj, Jupiter Yengkhom along with Salam Arnold who finished third in the men's physique competition in the 59th Manipur bodybuilding and physique contest, Mayanglambam Olenjit of Iron Gym, Kakching who finished third in the junior 70 kg competition, Kh Govindas who finished 4th in the senior 55 kg and Nongmaithem Paras Singh who took part in the competition were presented simple gifts during the event.
Speaking at the occasion, Y Nilachandra stressed on the significance of culture and sport in characterizing Manipur to the world.
He also took pride in the innumerable athletes who have been keeping the State's flag flying high in the National and the international arena.
Stating that games and sports played an important role in everyone's life, he said that games and sports not only keep everyone fit and healthy but also inculcates a sense of discipline, unity, good habits and most importantly spread the message of peace.
If he is elected to power, he will bring up more sports facilities in Sora and Kakching for the youth and athletes of the Kakching Assembly segment, he assured.
Ksh Ibohal, president Block Congress Committee Kakching; P Bankimchandra Singh, media panelist, MPCC and NSUI State president also attended the felicitation programme as presidium members.
