Monetary aid extended to Manipur Hawkers Association

IMPHAL, Dec 13: Monetary aid was extended to Manipur Hawkers Association (MHA) in the name of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot by Khoisnam Tokyo from Pishum Oinam Leikai.
The monetary aid was handed over to president of MHA, Ajit Wangkhemcha by Khoisnam Tokyo today in a simple function held at his residence.
Speaking on the occasion, Kh Tokyo stated that he has been donating monetary aid of Rs 5000 annually in the name of his late father Khoisnam Koba who used to work as a newspaper distributor.
But from this year onwards the monetary aid will be given to MHA in the honour of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot as  the eminent leader started a new era in 1947 by producing handwritten newspapers to keep the people informed, he added.
He further stated that the monthly pension of Rs 200 each provided to the elderly persons of his locality would still be given in the memory of his late father.
