MP reiterates commitment to upgrade MUC

IMPHAL, Nov 7 : Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba has reiterated his commitment to upgrade Manipur University of Culture to a Central varsity.
He made the statement during a release function of Manipur fil "Ima  Machet Icha Tangkhai" at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS), today.
Speaking as the chief guest, the MP stated that upgrading MUC would be of much benefit to the State as there are very few university of culture in the country.
Leishemba Sanajaoba also stressed on the need to correct the lack of moral values in today's younger generation.
Saying that the trend of parents focusing only on the academic activities of their children is also not a good sign,  the MP stressed on the need for the younger generation to spend time with the elders to enhance their cultural and moral values.
He also appealed to one and all to incorporate the social message given by Manipuri films, Shumang Leela and dramas in our daily life.
Maintaining that Ima  Machet Icha Tangkhai which released today highlights the 'degradation of our society,' Leishemba Sanajaoba lauded child actor Luwangthoibi and  other casts for their splendid performance.
While delivering a presidential speech, Art & Culture Director Ngangom Uttam said that taking culture to greater  heights is crucial to bring a balanced and sustainable development in the State.
Maintaining that the rate of deception and lawbreaking would be higher where there is no work culture, Uttam said that emotional integrity among the communities should be kept intact to take the State forward.
Namoijam Tomba was the guest of honour of the function.
