IMPHAL, Nov 29: The Edi-tors Guild Manipur (EGM) and the Manipur Hill Jour-nalists Union (MHJU) have urged the Chief Minister and the Minister of Information and Public Relations urging the Government to clear all the pending advertisement bills owed to Government departments.
A statement issued by the EGM and the MHJU said that the media houses in the State, which continued to render their services to the people even during the COVID-19 pandemic, are in a dire state as advertisement bills as old as two years running into several lakhs of rupees are still pending with various Government departments. The two bodies further urged the Government to release the bills latest by December 10. If the Government fails to do so by December 10, the media houses will take up various actions including censure of Government activities and boycott of Government related news. COVID-19 and law and order related news will be kept out of the boycott, it added.
