STDCM demands

IMPHAL, Nov 28 : A sit-in protest was staged today at Nongmeibung Nambam Chuthek urging the State Government to send a recommendation for inclusion of Meitei/Meetei in the ST list before the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
The sit-in protest was organised by Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee Manipur (STDCM) in collaboration with Eastern Students' Club and Nongmeibung Women's Development Association.
Speaking to the media, K Bhogendrajit, general secretary STDCM, said the Central Government had already asked the State to send the recommendation for inclusion of Meitei/Meetei in the ST list.
He added that more protests will be launched till the Government sends the said recommendation.
