Bandh derails vehicular movement
By Our Staff Reporter
IMPHAL, Nov 29 : The 48 hours bandh being called by the NH-37 Affected Land Owners Association on the road stretch between Tera and Keithelmanbi began today.
It may be mentioned that the NH-37 Affected Land Owners Association has been demanding the State Government to revoke the order issued on November 20 last for widening a portion of NH-37 and to give compensation to the land owners before carrying out an eviction drive.
Normal vehicular movement along the road stretch was disrupted as the bandh supporters blocked the road by burning tyres and placing branches and furniture.
The road was opened for traffic after the State police cleared the objects.
No untoward incident has been reported so far.
