AIMS celebrates Ningol Chakkouba

IMPHAL, Nov 28: Apunba Ireipakki Maheiroi Sinpanglup (AIMS) celebrated Ningol Chakkouba today at AIMS Office located in Kwakeithel.
The event was attended by Naorem Sanatomba, Assistant Professor Manipur University; Saikhom Premchand, president AIMS and Somorendro Thokchom, president CIRCA as the chief guest, president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Nickerson Khumancha, secretary general AIMS, stated that society is currently going through a process of degradation whereby the cultural identity, tradition and bonds of love between siblings are being eroded. He stressed upon the need for all communities to unite as one and added that the celebration imparts the message of solidarity and support from the students body to all women of the State, regardless of difference in ethnicity or place of origin.
Somendro Thokchom also addressed the gathering and spoke in praise of the beautiful festival of Ningol Chakkouba.
