IMPHAL, Nov 26
As observed across the country, the Lilong Haoreibi College observed the National Constitution Day also known as National Law Day today under the initiatives of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and College Teachers Association.
The Principal of the College, Dr Raheijuddin Sheikh administered the oath of the preamble at the college multipurpose hall, said a press release issued by the College
Delivering the key address, the Principal reiterated the significance of the day as the Government of India declared November 26 as Constitution Day on November 19, 2015 by a gazette notification.
He also mentioned that the year 2021 is the 131st birth anniversary of Ambedkar who had chaired the drafting committee of the Constituent Assembly and played a pivotal role in the drafting of the Constitution.
The observance was also attended by the president of the College Teachers Association, E Bhorat Singh and Head of the Mathematic, Syed Zakir Hussain as the presidium members.
E Bhorat Singh explained the contents of the preamble to the students and advised them to strictly adhere to it, added the press release.
Adhivakta Parishad Manipur too observed National Law Day today at Bal Vidya Mandir, Palace Compound organised by Akhil Bharatiya Adhivakta Parishad. According to a press release issued today, Kh Rajen Singh, Assam Kshetra Karyavah, RSS and N Pramod Singh, Assistant Professor LMS Law College attended the event as chief guest and resource person respectively. The function was presided over by I Jugeshwor Singh, president Adhivakta Parishad Manipur. Many representatives of CSOs were also present at the event.
